Copenhagens largest department store ...
This slide is labeled Copenhagen’s largest department store and dates from September 1965. We can see a bit of a line waiting to get into the store. It doesn’t quite look busy enough from this side of the street to be people going home.
I was not able to find the actual name of this store, but there are several clues in the pict [...]

Expo 67 – Montreal Canada – 1967
Expo 67 was the short name of The 1967 Universal and International Exhibition in MontrĂ©al. It was technically a World’s fair, but organizers thought that Expo 67 was easier to say and allowed the event to be thematic instead of commercial. This was in contrast to the decidedly commercial1964 [...]
Stubborn Mule – 1961
I’m not quite sure where this picture was taken, but I love the detail in it. We have a mountain town of some sort, having a parade. Two mules (one is hidden behind the other,) are being pulled through the streets by a couple of young men. One has a sign saying “Al Gas Al Service 836(?) Bear Lane.”
I want to say this is s [...]

Making Lunch
Here is a great photo! We haven’t seen this gentleman before, but I think he’s married to the lady on the left in this photo. We have some more photos in the set that looks like they’re of Mt. Rainier. So this would probably make this a picture near Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park.
The bag that looks li [...]

Timberline Lodge Snow Pack – 19...
Today’s picture is showing off Timberline Lodge Snow Pack on Mt. Hood in Oregon. The picture dates from 1955. I can’t tell if we’re early or late in the season here. But the freshness of the snow leads me to believe it’s probably early still. This portion of Mt. Hood routinely gets 400-500 inches of snow per a year, an [...]
Unknown Village – 1967
Unknown Village
There is little to work with on this one. It was a part of a larger set, but seemed to be a lone picture of this scene. Since the other pictures ranged from China to Washington State, it’s hard to determine exactly where it was taken.
Please leave a comment below if you have any ideas of the location.
“Nudes on Ice” at the Ala...
I’m not able to find a lot of information about the “Nudes on Ice” show in Las Vegas. It seems to have been co-Produced by both George Arnold and Bill Moore. It ran from at least 1968 when this photo was taken, and was revived in 1988 for a 12-week show that ended up running 18 months.
In that time it seems to have played a [...]

Battery Bingham – 1977
Todays’s vintage photo is Battery Bingham. It’s located at Fort Moultrie in South Carolina. This pictures dates from May 1977.
Battery Bingham was built in 1899, and only used for twenty years. But it was not actually named until 1903 in honor of Second Lieutenant Horatio S. Bingham, who was in charge [...]
