This is an unknown Christian Church (to me) somewhere in Egypt or the Middle East. The photo was taken in 1952 and is part of the same collection that revealed the gems of the Baalbek Ruins and Life at Giza.
I spent a couple of hours trying to find this church but had no luck using Egypt, Giza, Cairo, Damascus, Luxor or Ballabek as search terms. The style is reminiscent of a few other Christian churches, but either they had a very stylized cross or drastically different tower. Or they had two (or more) towers on the building. It’s possible that this building has been modified heavily, destroyed, or turned into a mosque.
As usual please excuse the dirt, this is a glass slide and the dirt is actually in between the glass and the negatives. It’s very hard to clean out but I wanted to show off this building because it is pretty unique and interesting.
Do you have any information about it?
