This slide is labeled Copenhagen’s largest department store and dates from September 1965. We can see a bit of a line waiting to get into the store. It doesn’t quite look busy enough from this side of the street to be people going home.
I was not able to find the actual name of this store, but there are several clues in the picture; ‘..ere ‘d Alsdee” “Kronenberg” “..nac Martell” (which I assume is part of the department store’s name,) and the “Cafe de la Paix” all share this building. Across the street is an American Express Office.
I love this street scene in general. I don’t know vintage autos well enough to tell for sure what is driving, but there is a Mercedes Taxi in the right side of the picture.
