Union Pacific 4012: Big Boy
The “Big Boy” is an articulated 4-8-8-4 Steam Engine. 4-8-8-4 denotes that it is a locomotive with a four-wheel leading truck, two sets of eight driving wheels, and a four-wheel trailing truck, in other words, it’s HUGE. Only 25 total were built, including the one shown in this pictures, 4012.

These pictures are from a collection of slides that date to 1971. We have pictures of a glacier falling into the sea, and a ruined building with a totem pole next to it. I have no idea where exactly these pictures were taken.

These pictures are a collection of 35mm slides take at Bloomington Petroglyph Park in Utah. The petroglyphs were created by the Ancient Anasazi Indians who lived in the area.
