Kiosk at National Mall
This little information Kiosk at National Mall in Washington D.C. still exists today. At first it seems to be an rather unremarkable photo. Some guy, in a military uniform, manning a kiosk at the National Mall in Washington D.C. Imagine this job in the summer! The information kiosk even looks the same, without any shade [...]

Field of Tulips – 1967
It’s the height of 1967. Our photographer is still on a whirlwind tour of Europe. As we piece together a multitude of pictures, we find that he was well traveled. Perhaps he was in the military stationed over seas? Who knows now, but we are lucky enough to have what he documented for us.
Among these locations is this beautiful Field of [...]
Vintage autos at Hofburg Palace, Vien...
This slide is labeled “Vienna, Austria. Hofburg Palace,” but only shows some vintage autos and an obelisk.
Unfortunately Google is not finding much in the way of obelisks at Hofburg Palace. I wonder if this statue exists still, or if the slide was mislabeled?
*Update* The general consensus seems to be that this is the Luxor Obe [...]

The Grace Church in New York City is a French Gothic Revival style building. It is built with “Sing Sing Marble,” a type of stone from quarries along the Hudson River near the (in)famous Sing Sing Prison. The stone was quarried with what was essentially slave labor, as prisoners were frequently conscripted to bring in money to the [...]

Grand Hotel de Bordeaux, Le Havre Fra...
The Grand Hotel de Bordeaux was once in Le Havre, France. I am not able to find where this hotel was in Le Havre, but the Grand Hotel de Bordeaux looks to be in Bordeaux France now. I did a quick cruise to hotels around Le Havre in Google Maps but was not able to find it. Perhaps one of you dear readers may be able to pin point where this bui [...]

Field of flowers – 1967
Not the Sound of Music
This field of flowers with the snow covered mountain in the background could be any place in the world. From the snow covered Alps-like Northern Cascade mountains near Leavenworth Washington, to Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Scotland or just about any other country. It is sort of reminiscen [...]
