I apologize for the bad focus on this one, but I thought it was still an interesting enough picture that people would be interested in looking at it. This is the Palace of Versailles outside of Paris France.
The original building was built as a hunting lodge in 1624. In 1630 he made arrangements to increase the size of the chateau. By 1682 it became the home of the court of France, ruled over by Louis XIV. It remained the seat of power until October 1789 when the Royal Family moved back to Paris to deal with the French Revolution.
