Utter Children
Found in the same book and thrift store as Mr and Mrs George Heinrich, was this great family photo of the Utter Children.
Photographer(s) were John A. Gault and Christian A. Lind. According to the Wisconsin Historical Society, they ran a joint photo studio in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 1888. In 1889, they had moved to Marinette [...]
Mr and Mrs George Heinrich
From an vintage photo album found in a thrift store in LaPine Oregon, is this lovely photo of a couple. It is labeled Mr. and Mrs. George Heinrich, Grandma Kirk’s Sister. The front says the photographer was N.F. Trade, from Menno South Dakota. I’m not able to find any information about the photographer. [...]
Unknown late 1800s woman
I don’t remember where I came across this photo. It’s unlabeled, so we’ll probably never know who she was. Interesting to me from a technical perspective is how blown out the light is. I wonder if that was on purpose or an accident.
The embossed writing says “Marceau Power” “Paris [...]
Karfreitag – 1946
I found this awesome family photo in an antique store recently and simply could not pass it up.

As I researched further I realized that the pictures were taken within weeks of the opening of Tomorrowland in 1959. Four rides has just opened, Autopia, Submari [...]
These are two pictures in my collection of the Astoria-Megler Ferry and Landing in Oregon. Both are from different photographers and several years apart. Both show a piece of Oregon and Washington history that is missing now. The Astoria-Megler Ferry crossed the mouth of the Columbia River between Astoria Oregon and McGown Washington. After a [...]
Exterior view of the United States Capitol Building. Look at that parking lot of vintage autos, many of which look pretty dirty like they’ve had a long winter. Slide dates from May 1969.
This is one of the unlabeled slides in my collection. It’s among a collection of stuff from around Mt. Rainier in Washington, but I was not able to find a similar scene that was labeled. If you have an idea of where this might be, please comment below!
